This is the north west view of the Thanjavur big temple, also known as “Brahadisvaram” in Sanskrit and "Peruvudaiyar Koil" in Tamil.
The temple was built by the greatest of Chola emperors Rajaraja-I (985 AD-1012 AD), the son of Sundara Chola (Parantakaa-II), and named as "Rajarajesvaram".
The temple is part of the UNESCO World Heritage site "Great Living Chola Temples".
